Bodies have stories to tell. It is our belief that by having these stories truly heard, transformations take place, an unwinding happens, and a reorganizing can occur. A place that was stuck can feel new movement. A profound relaxation exists where there was once tension. In this state, our amazing bodies are able to rejuvenate and heal themselves. Our breathing, digestion, and circulation all can improve, which supports the immune system.

Our goal is to provide a sanctuary for healing to occur, as well as to hold a respectful space for both what is present as well as for what is potential. Our training enables us to be listening practionher, who can hear the stories that the body is telling.

We offer our service to everyone from infants to aging adults. Whether suffering from pain or simply seeking restoration, all are welcome.

BOWENWORK

Bowenwork is a gentle and effective technique for balancing tension patterns in the body. A Bowen session combines a series of precise soft tissue procedures with essential periods of waiting for the body to respond. Bowen addresses specific injuries and works on health problems that are both acute and chronic. Bowen has been used as a key part of holistic programs to address many stress and pain related conditions, including: injuries from overuse or trauma, headaches, fatigue, ear/throat issues, TMJ, ADD/ADHD, developmental delays, Depression, reproductive and menstrual problems.

The Bowen technique allows the body to heal itself with minimal intervention. Because of the subtlety of Bowen and the body’s continuous response to it, other forms of manipulative therapy performed up to four days before, or five day after, a Bowen session may interfere with optimal results.

Bowen sessions generally last from 20-50 minutes. The moves are gentle and purposeful and may be done through light clothing. A session involves one or more procedures, each of which consists of precise rolling moves applied in key locations along the body. During each procedure, the practitioner pauses for a few minutes to give the body time to integrate the moves.

Both the nervous system and meridian system impact the fascial matrix that connects to internal organs, muscles and bones. Clients experience an increased sense of vitality and well-being as all of the pathways of the body continue to align themselves in the hours and days following a session. Hellerwork can reverse and reduce the impacts of aging through reconditioning the body and lengthening and stretching your connective tissue that has become or is becoming rigid.

Ongoing physical stress, over time, could be carrying a heavy handbag causing the shoulder on one side of the body to be pulled down. Over time, the involved connective tissue becomes hard and stiff; the body becomes adapted to that position – even if the handbag is no longer being carried! In subtle compensations and adjustments to this uneven weight distribution, the rest of the body starts to become unbalanced and unaligned.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE

Thai Yoga Massage is a therapeutic art that appeared in the temples of Thailand over 2,500 years ago. Based on the principles of yoga and ayurveda, Thai Yoga Massage practitioners guide the client through a series of yoga postures while palming along the body’s energy lines and pressure points. Through the use of yoga postures and the practitioners adjustments, the body receives a comprehensive treatment. Thai Yoga Massage relieves muscular tension, improves ciriculation, boots the immune system and balances the energetic body. Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor. Plan to wear comfortable clothing to allow for easy movement.
